Eric Rueth, M.D.

Dr. Eric Rueth is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology providing expert therapy and medication management for a wide variety of psychological issues and psychiatric disorders.
 
His undergraduate studies were completed at Duke University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in both Biology (neuroscience concentration) and Religion with a minor in complexity theory physics. He earned his Medical Degree at Emory University School of Medicine before moving on to complete his psychiatric residency in New York City at St. Lukeʼs-Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospitals of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. 
 
His career as an attending psychiatrist in New York City began with a focus in emergency psychiatry, where he rose to become the Medical Director for Emergency Psychiatric Services for NYU at Woodhull Hospital before moving to Nashville in 2016. Dr. Rueth then founded and developed a comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment Service for Vanderbilt University Psychiatric Hospital, where he has served as the medical director until opening True Psychiatry. He also has several years of experience throughout his career as an intensive outpatient treatment provider, including work for both the CITPD (Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders) in New York City as well as the PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) at Vanderbilt.
